Question: Recite what Jesus said was the second greatest commandment.
Answer: ”Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.” (Matthew 22:39)
Comments: Near the end of his earthly life, a Pharisee tested Jesus by asking him to name the "greatest commandment". Jesus selected two. Firs,t he named the greatest commandment: "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and with all your mind." He then claimed that the second most important divine command was "you shall love your neighbor as yourself."
"The second is like it, 'YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.'" (Matthew 22:39, NASB)
Though both statements are Old Testament citations, neither are featured in the Ten Commandments. The first comes from Deuteronomy 6:5 while the second cites Leviticus 19:18.
