Benignity
Benignity is the quality of being benign; kindness.
The residents of Malta demonstrated great benignity towards Paul and his companions after they had been shipwrecked.
The natives showed us extraordinary kindness; for because of the rain that had set in and because of the cold, they kindled a fire and received us all. (Acts 28:2, NASB)
Note: This oil on copper, "St. Paul at Malta" by Adam Elsheimer (1578-1610), hangs in the National Gallery in London.
