Word of the Day - 6/9/2008

Fetor

A fetor is a strong, offensive smell; stench.

When Jesus asked for the stone to be removed from Lazarus' tomb, Martha expressed her concern that there would be a fetor.

Jesus said, "Remove the stone." Martha, the sister of the deceased, said to Him, "Lord, by this time there will be a stench, for he has been dead four days." (John 11:39, NASB)
