In Eckleburg's Eyes - 1/12/2009, Part 4

News & Notes from Sunday, January 11th, 2009

-Sunday was JTH’s 29th birthday.

-After celebrating with his family, JTH came to my house where we lifted weights. I was pleased that he at least struggled a little to complete my routine.

-JTH chose to celebrate at the Texas Roadhouse. There we were joined by ALK, ANDR and PCR. We delivered PCR’s Christmas gifts which made it appear he was the one celebrating and not JTH. JTH liked it that way.

-KLTW and KJW also stopped by but got their order to go. This was KJW’s first day away from the house in panties and KLTW feared an accident. Ordinarily I would not be overly concerned but since I sat next to the child...

-KLTW’s husband RAW was at work and could not attend.

-My meal was good. I ordered chicken fingers. I kept my record in tact. Any time I eat honey mustard some seems to get on my shirt.

-When JTH informed ANDR of his age, she exclaimed, “Good lord!...You’re almost done.” Her husband, PCR, replied. “I must be done.” PCR turns 37 in March.

-After dinner, JTH, ALK, and I reconvened at my house where we watched Rent-A-Kid on VHS. ALK had a dream involving the film the previous Saturday night (January 3rd) and it took us some time to determine what film it was that she had dreamt of. I found the tape at McKay’s on Friday and we watched it. I felt she needed to watch the movie of her dreams.

-We watched the VHS copy as the movie has yet to be released on DVD, which should give you some idea of its popularity. I had forgotten what an issue tracking is on VHS tapes.

-After the movie, JTH and ALK played the Wii. JTH is typically one of the least competitive of my friends, but this does not apply when he is playing his girlfriend. His outbursts are quite humorous. On this night we discovered that the Wii baseball game on Wii Sports has a slaughter rule. For the record, JTH slaughtered ALK.

-Sunday was also JTH’s mother KTH’s birthday. Happy birthday Karen!
