-After one or two directional miscues, we arrived in Duluth. Dave & Buster’s exceeded out expectations. We had envisioned it as a more adult Chuck E. Cheese. The atmosphere was more like that of a traditional restaurant. The building was divided into three sections: pool tables, a dining area, and then a large game room. All were very nice.
-Having not eaten since breakfast, we decided to dine before we played. We ate while watching the Tennessee Titans lose 13-10 to the Baltimore Ravens in their first playoff despite accumulating the best record in the NFL. One of the few complaints we had was that there were not enough televisions and they seemed old for such a nice establishment.
-I bought a discounted meal that allowed us to get a $20 game card with the meal. The food was great. I ate chicken fingers and potato skins (my typical meal). They were both tasty, especially the skins. Our waitress, Sheena, was also very kind. She was very familiar with Knoxville as she had once had a boyfriend there and visited him frequently. When I asked which part of town he lived in, she said that he lived near a book store called McKay’s and was wondering if I knew of it. Was she serious?
-After eating, we made our way to the game room. Game pricing was done with a system that involved decimal points which seemed illogical since kids were some of the primary patrons.

-We had a great time. We would have had an even better time had we not been exhausted and had there not been so many kids present. It was our own fault for going on a Saturday.
-When we left we had accumulated 306 tickets on our card. After perusing the prizes and not wanting to divvy up the tickets, we found a well-behaved kid and gave the card to his mother.

-On the way home we broke up the trip by stopping at McKay’s in Chattanooga. Neither JDM or MPW had been and were interested but I am fairly sure they stopped as a concession to me. I was tired so we did not stay too long.

-Speaking of contrast, after exhausting our CD options, we used JDM’s phone to compare and contrast Bobby Maze’ freestyle rap “Put On For Tennessee” with Renaldo Wooldridge’s more polished “Baller Vol”. While Wooldridge’s video is clearly superior, he had a studio. All B. Maze needed was a camera and a sheet! (Notice the sheet in the background of the video.)
-We still think the Vols should come out to Maze’s video. If the team came through the crowd, they would have to come in through the roof as it is over four minutes long! We resisted this idea as Wayne Chism plus that many stairs is a recipe for disaster.
-We arrived home after 10 pm. As always after such a long day, it was good to be home.
