Sunday marked the 300th day of 2008 and WAM’s birthday.
My Sunday began where it often does, at church. I taught Sunday School class 3A in Room 215. The large group is comprised of some great middle aged couples, many of whom I knew well. The group’s usual teacher, JKM, was away on business and I was honored to fill in. I picked a great week to visit as on the last Sunday of the month, the group meets early and eats an assortment of great food that they bring.
I was disappointed that HTB, a good friend, and member of the class could not attend. My pastor is ill and HTB filled the pulpit in his stead. Thankfully, I did get to chat with HTB briefly before class.
I taught the class I Samuel 24-31. Not surprisingly, my animated telling of eight chapters took the majority of the class. I had fun and hope they did as well. I also learned an expression. When BJR (pictured above) was asked how she was, she responded, “as fine as frog hair.” That was new to me.
Afterwards, I took WAM to Shoney’s for his birthday. When I take someone to eat, it is first class all the way. WAM was his usual entertaining self. For WAM’s brilliance, check out the WAM Quote of the Day.
Happy Birthday, WAM!
