Convivial
Convivial means friendly; agreeable: a convivial atmosphere.
The brother of the Prodigal Son was disgruntled about his father's convivial attitude towards his returning brother. (Luke 15:28)
Note: Henri J. M. Nouwen (1932-1996) was so intrigued by this painting of The Return of the Prodigal Son by the Dutch painter Rembrandt (1606-1669) that he wrote a book in response: The Return of the Prodigal Son: a Story of Homecoming.
