Prayer Blog - 3/12/2008

I will be sending out my resume and a sample sermon this week in hopes of obtaining a job. Please pray that, if it be God’s will, one of the churches will show some interest. If none do, pray that God provide a church for me.

Most of this list came after meeting with JWT at the Knox County Association of Baptists. The rest came from ads in the February 20th issue of the Baptist and Reflector. Some I am painfully unqualified for, but I thought it could not hurt to send a resume.

Here is the list:

Asterisk (*) denotes a bi-vocational position.

  2. JW, the associate and interim pastor at the Church at Sterchi Hills called today. The good news is that he was impressed enough by my resume to call the day he received it. The bad news is that he is not even on the search committee.

It was still encouraging. I will meet with him next Tuesday at 2 pm. I look forward to it on several levels. Most of which, I could use a new Christian friend.

The bad news is that it looks like I will be getting my first haircut of 2008 pretty soon.

  3. My packet sent to Burnett's Creek was there when I returned from South Carolina today. I used the address given me. They are not even in the phone book so I will eliminate them as as option.

  9. I received a letter dated May 14th that West Lonsdale Baptist Church did receive my application but they are presently not seeking a pastor. My suspicion is that they do not presently have the money to pay one. Keep this church in your prayers.
