MBF, a long-time family friend from Newport, is recovering from a serious fall at UT Medical Center. She has bleeding in her head and is suffering from aphasia. Here is an article that appeared in the local paper, The Newport Plain-Talk on January 9th:
PARROTTSVILLE-A Parrottsville resident remains in the critical care unit of UT Hospital in Knoxville following a serious fall at her home Wednesday night.
According to church friends, Mary Ford was standing on a stool as she put away Christmas decorations in a closet. Her husband, Dr. Nathan Ford, heard her fall and found her.
Mrs. Ford reportedly remained conscious and was able to be transported by car to the emergency room of Baptist Hospital of Cocke County.
After being examined there, she was transferred to the Knoxville facility.
Initially scans showed some bleeding on the brain, but, according to Dr. Ford, additional tests Thursday night showed that it had stopped.
Please keep MBF in your prayers.
