Prayer Blog - 3/9/2008

JLTB's mother, WWL, is battling colon cancer. This is not her first bout with the disease and the prognosis is not good. Please keep her and her family in your prayers.

WWL passed away today. The funeral service is Saturday. Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Here is Wilma Lockett's obituary as it appeared in the March 12 edition of the Knoxville news-Sentinel:

LOCKETT, WILMA WALLER - born September 12, 1918 in Anderson County to the late Bedford and Vesta Jane MaGill Waller, passed away Sunday, March 9, 2008 at Ft. Sanders Regional Medical Center. She was a long time member of First Baptist Church, Knoxville and had recently joined Central Baptist Church, Bearden to be with her daughter's family. Wilma, a lover of plants and flowers, was a long time member of Garden Gate Garden Club. She was a loving wife for 61 years to the late W. Lones Lockett, DDS. Wilma was also preceded in death by her sisters, Beulah and Eula; brothers, Luther, J.B., Chester, and Lester. She is survived by her loving family: son, William A. Lockett and wife, Sally of Chattanooga; daughter, Jane Bryson and husband, Dr. Harold Bryson of Knoxville; grandchildren, Julia Lockett, Amy Hethcox and husband Joshua, Laura Morrison and husband Mathew, Johnny Thorton, and Dori Thorton; great grandchildren, Nathan and Lauren Hethcox. The family would like to thank Wilma's friend, Carol Viles for all the help and love she gave her; and a big thank you to Dr. Thomas Kubota and his wonderful and caring staff, and to the CCU nurses and doctors at Ft. Sanders Regional. A funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Rose Mortuary Mann Heritage Chapel with Dr. Harold Bryson officiating. Interment to follow at Highland Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Baptist Church, Bearden; Music Ministry, 6300 Deanne Hill Drive, Knoxville, TN 37919. The family will receive friends 10-11:00 A.M.
