My grandmother, MLJN, has had further health complications. She has been in the advanced stages of Alzheimer's for some time. Recently, her weight dropped to 90 pounds. Her two children - my mother and her brother - conferred on Friday regarding her future medical care. They have decided that she will be fed intravenously and be provided with her basic needs but that no feeding tube will ever be inserted.
Though my grandmother has slowly deteriorated, this is very difficult on my mother. We feel it would be best for my grandmother to pass away and end her suffering, but we know God knows better than us. Please pray for my grandmother and her family.
Coincidentally, today is my grandmother’s 94th birthday.

Shannondale nursing home (where my grandmother resides) called today and asked permission for Hospice to be called. They are very effective at making patients comfortable but their presence also usually represents the beginning of the end. While my grandmother had rallied many times before, it appears her end is near.
My grandmother passed away at around 5 pm last night. We thank all of you for your prayers during this time.
